Microscopic. Indestructible.

Tardigrades… perhaps you’ve heard of them? Small but mighty, they have withstood multiple extinction periods, surviving boiling temperatures and the freezing temperatures of space. With a surprising cult following, some people call them ‘Water Bears’, others call them ‘Moss Piglets’.

Moss Piglet is an explosive portrait of the world’s most resilient and curious critters. Taking young audiences from jelly-filled petri dishes to the depths of a volcano to Arctic glaciers to the moon, the work explodes the mysteries of the wildly weird tardigrade.

Playful and thrilling, Moss Piglet is an epic new work about how even the tiniest of things can be the strongest. Think Bruce Willis in Die Hard… but teeny tiny with eight legs… who loves moss.

Contains theatrical haze, flashing lights and loud noises.

Kegelstatt Ensemble: Workshop of the Times
Sunday 21 July

Murray Bridge Performings Arts + Function Centre

3pm

Kegelstatt ensemble will delight audiences with this beautiful, historical concert. The title is taken from that of a concert series founded by Erwin Schulhoff in Dresden after the end of the First World War. The composer spent time with visual artists such as Otto Dix, while he began to feel and process what would now be recognised as post-traumatic stress, having fought and been twice wounded in trench warfare. Together they founded the concert series, “Werkstatt der Zeit” (workshop of the time), which championed and premiered new “expression- ist” music, as they felt strongly that late Romantic music no longer spoke to the times in which they were living.

About the artists

Erwin Schulhoff - Concertino for flute, viola and double bass (1925)

Ingolf Dahl - Concerto a tre for clarinet, violin and cello (1946)

Improvisation on a Theme of our Times

Osualdo Golijov - Lullaby and Doina for flute, clarinet, violin, viola, cello and double bass (2001)

Kegelstatt (skittle alley) is the subtitle of Mozart’s Trio for clarinet, viola and piano, composed, according to legend, in a single day after a game of skittles with friends. The themes of friendship and pleasure inherent in Mozart’s skittle alley story are central to the Kegelstatt philosophy, along with a mission to discover and present rare and great chamber music for unusual combinations of instruments.

Yep, that's exactly what Vanessa Larry Mitchell's one-woman show feels like" - Mindshare
