Choir Cecilia Inc.

Choir Cecilia is a community choir based in Mount Barker.  The Choir has been delighting audiences in Mount Barker and Victor Harbor for more than a quarter of a century with an eclectic mix of songs, and is bringing this musical entertainment to Murray Bridge for the first time.  In another first, the senior choir from Unity College Murray Bridge will be joining Choir Cecilia as guest artists for this concert.  A quartet of singers from the Choir will also perform.

The program chosen for this concert includes classical pieces by G F Handel, G Faure, and E Humperdinck; Spirituals; and traditional songs from as far back as the 16th century.  Also it has become traditional for the musical director, Peter Webb OAM, to open the concert with a solo didgeridoo performance.

Peter has led Choir Cecilia for 25 years, whilst at the same time being the conductor of the Unley Symphony Orchestra.  He has spent a lifetime as a musical performer and educator, and was awarded the OAM for this service.  Peter has composed choral arrangements of many songs for the Choir to perform, including several for this concert. Sadly he will be retiring from the Choir after the second performance in Mount Barker on 3 July.
